Exploring Personal Data Processing in Video Conferencing Apps

The use of video conferencing applications has increased tremendously in recent years, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated restrictions on movements. As a result, corresponding smart apps have also seen usage, leading surge downloads apps. However, this trend generated several data protection privacy challenges inherent mobile ecosystem. This paper aims study issues by statistically dynamically analyzing most common such real-time operation Android platforms. goal is determine what these do real time verify whether they provide users with sufficient information regarding underlying personal processes. Our results illustrate that there still room for improvement aspects, mainly because relevant policies not always about processes (especially respect leaks third parties), which, turn, raises concerns compliance design default principles.
